What is the Unified Development Code?
In January of 2007, the City contracted with Clarion Associates’ Denver Office to update the City’s development code and create a Unified Development Code (UDC). The request is consistent with the City’s comprehensive plan’s number one goal, analyze and rewrite the development code.
Presently, Titles 15, 16, and 17 have become outdated, have conflicting regulations, have been overly amended, and have become confusing to citizens and developers. The development code update’s purpose is to create a new unified development code which will result in a single document that is easy to read, follow, understand and address development concerns within the City.
As part of this effort, the City has established a special committee, the Zoning Advisory Committee (ZAC). The ZAC is intended to represent a cross section of the development community and will be made up with several Planning Commissioners and other Laramie residents.
Please feel free to contact staff with any questions or concerns relative to the UDC. Please Click on the "Draft Code (Documents)" link below for the latest drafts.
