2009 Water-Wise Landscaping Contest

The City of Laramie Community Development Department proudly announces the 2009 Water-Wise Landscaping Contest.  Entries for the contest are due by August 7, 2009 and the top prize is a rain barrel painted by children participating in the Summer Club program at the Laramie Recreation Center, and clear-coated for durability by the WyoTech Collision Repair Program.  The barrel was constructed from a food-grade barrel donated by Pepsi.

Landscapes and gardens being entered for consideration in the project may be both newly established and long-standing areas, both within City limits and within the Casper Aquifer Protection Area which includes county subdivisions north, south and east of City limits.  If you have questions on whether or not you’re within the contest boundaries, you may contact the Water Resources Specialist at 721-5213 or cwiese@ci.laramie.wy.us. Entries will be considered based on beautification of the landscape, water savings and visibility.
