Personal Trainer Information

Are you looking to take your workout to the next level? Or do you need some help developing a fitness program and feeling comfortable with the equipment available at the Recreation Center? The services of certified trainers are available to members of the Laramie Community Recreation Center! The trainer’s understanding of the basic components of fitness will help you work out at a level to effectively achieve your goals. Whatever your fitness needs, consider calling the Recreation Center, 721-5269, to begin your individualized fitness program!

  • Available Sunday through Saturday at the Recreation Center, by appointment only.
  • 16 yrs + (exceptions considered). 25/hr/individuals; $35/hr/couples (members only).
  • 24-hour notice required for registration and cancellation.

Personal Trainers on staff:


Erin Chamberlain

has a B.A. degree from Arizona State University (2001) and is pursuing an M.A. in Educational Psychology. She has been certified through ACE (American Council on Exercise) since 1995. She is also certified through Aerobics & Fitness Association of America, and Aquatics & Fitness Professional Association- International. Her experience includes personal training; instructor of land fitness, aqua aerobics, mixed martial arts, Pilates, and Baby & Me yoga; police officer training; and weight loss support.

Joyce Honour has been certified through ACE (American Council on Exercise) since 2005, and AFAA (Aerobics & Fitness Association of America) since 2003. She is pursuing a B.S. in Kinesiology & Health. Her experience includes personal training, yoga instruction, Tai Chi instruction, and group step aerobics instruction. She holds a Black Belt in Tai Kwan Do.

Kevin Bretting has a B.S. in Kinesiology and Health Promotion, University of Wyoming, with a minor in Psychology. He is a certified personal trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) as well as USA Diving Safety certified. He has experience as a team trainer for a biggest loser weight loss challenge group, and as an instructor in deep water aerobics, Silver Sneakers, Core fitness, Spinning, Diving and swing dance.

How to begin:

-
Member completes a Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q). If necessary, the member must seek medical clearance from a physician. Both these forms are available at the the Recreation Center Front Desk, or they may be downloaded by clicking here.
-Choose a personal trainer from the options above and list him or her on the Personal Trainer Request Form along with your preferred days and times to train.
-The Personal Trainer will contact within a week to schedule your first session.
-The first session will include a fitness assessment and goal setting, it will be free of charge.
-Every session thereafter, the member should check in at the Front Desk and pay, the member will receive a receipt for their records and a receipt to give to the Personal Trainer.
